Exploring Uncommon Interpretations at Sarasota Orchestra
The Sarasota Orchestra presents a unique program featuring lesser-known renditions of well-loved classical pieces. The concert begins with Beethoven?s final version of the Overture to Fidelio, accompanied by Tchaikovsky's original Rococo Variations. Additionally, Mahler?s Blumine, which was excluded from his first symphony, is performed in its own right, highlighting its beauty. The orchestra will also showcase two distinct slow movements from Mozart?s Symphony No. 31, inviting the audience to engage in a delightful comparison and decide which they prefer. This initiative offers a fresh perspective on classic works, encouraging appreciation for the variations that enrich the classical repertoire.
